Holy Names Academy is an all-girls Catholic high school founded in 1880 by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. The school offers excellent academic, arts, athletic, spiritual, and leadership programs that promote the development of the whole person in an environment of inclusion, collaboration, and community. Holy Names Academy is located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle. HNA sports teams practice at various sites around the city.
Holy Names Academy is hiring a part-time Head Varsity Cross Country Coach for the 2025-26 school year. This position, under the direction of the Athletic Director, is responsible for leading and developing the cross country program at Holy Names Academy. This includes coaching, mentoring student-athletes and assistant coaches, and building the season schedule. The coach will foster a positive and competitive environment that aligns with the mission of Holy Names Academy, emphasizing sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrated knowledge, dedication, experience, and ability to teach running skills and conditioning programs.
- Supervision and instruction of cross country student-athletes during all team activities.
- Effective communication with student-athletes, parents, and school administration.
- Ability to work collaboratively with assistant coaches, sub-varsity coaches, athletic trainer, and other HNA staff.
- Represent Holy Names Academy, the athletic department, and the cross country program at a variety of on and off-campus marketing and networking events.
- Seeking continuing education opportunities in your sport (clinics, attending college practices, working camps, etc.).
- Maintain compliance with all Holy Names Academy, Metro League, and Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) rules and regulations.
