Description

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager of DC Cooling Product Engineering plays a pivotal role in leading and managing the product engineering team to ensure the successful development, enhancement, and maintenance of our company's products. Responsible for overseeing the entire product engineering lifecycle, from conceptualization to deployment, while ensuring alignment with business goals, quality standards, and customer needs.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads and mentors a group of managers and product engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and support to foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Defines team objectives, set performance expectations, and conducts regular performance reviews to drive individual and team growth.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams including product management, design, and research and development to define the product roadmap and strategy.
  • Collaborates with quality assurance and manufacturing engineering to define focus areas for product improvements.
  • Drives the execution of product development plans, ensuring alignment with business objectives, market requirements, and technological feasibility.
  • Provides technical leadership and expertise in software development methodologies, architecture, and best practices.
  • Reviews technical designs, code, and implementation strategies to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability of products.
  • Plans and prioritizes product engineering initiatives, allocating resources effectively to meet project timelines and deliverables.
  • Supports DFMEAs,  PFMEAs, CFD, FEA, and Seismic evaluations and testing.
  • Monitors project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Champions continuous improvement initiatives within the product engineering team, driving innovation, efficiency, and quality enhancements.
  • Establishes and promotes engineering best practices, standards, and processes to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Communicates regularly with key stakeholders, providing updates on project status, milestones, and technical challenges.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to gather feedback, address concerns, and ensure alignment with expectations.
     

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, or related field and 10 years’ experience in product engineering, or related engineering roles with a focus on leadership and management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong technical background in engineering and related technologies in the Data Center product applications.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing cross-functional engineering teams, including recruitment, performance management, and team development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and drive consensus.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of successfully translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a passion for delivering high-quality products that exceed customer expectations.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects, including conceptual designs, make design recommendations, and mentor Design Engineers.
  • Creativity and innovation to implement new ideas and technologies.
  • Highly skilled in Mechanical Engineering and design.
  • Demonstrates strong multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills.
  • Understands safety standards including but not limited to UL, CE, NEC, IBC, and NFPA.
  • Exhibits good decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office setting.
  • Frequent exposure to manufacturing facilities with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.
  • Ability to work in conditions below 32 degrees or above 90 degrees on occasion.
  • Occasional travel is required.
