Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing global supply chain strategies to support each business unit and company objectives and drive best practice results in supply chain operations. Develops procurement team who manage supplier relationships to ensure efficient and cost-effective acquisition of materials. Develops logistics leaders who manage inventory and supply chain processes. Oversees the development of policies, procedures, and processes related to materials sourcing, production planning, purchasing, inventory management, storage, and distribution. Ensures that the movement of raw materials, in-process goods, or completed components meet production needs and customer expectations. Sets supply chain performance and quality standards. The role demands a deep understanding of procurement and logistics practices. Direct responsibilities include leading teams responsible for translating corporate objectives into strategic sourcing and logistics plans for production targets and working in close collaboration with manufacturing, PBU leadership, product management and engineering. Required to consistently demonstrate and sustain AAON core values including moral character, positive attitude and work ethic, team empowerment, boundaryless innovation, and a safe and respectful work environment. Strategic decisions have medium to long-term impact on operations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops supply chain strategies aligned with overall business objectives and oversees execution through leadership team.
  • Collaborates closely with PBU leaders and the manufacturing leader to define and execute procurement priorities through seamless coordination and communication.
  • Works closely with the manufacturing leader to optimize the overall integrated supply chain of AAON plants and supplier plants.
  • Leads a team of procurement professionals who analyze and understand supply markets in each major supply category and develop and execute strategic sourcing strategy in each category.
  • Oversees the development of supply chain optimization to meet inventory targets.
  • Identifies and mitigates procurement risks. Proposes strategic sourcing opportunities to executive leadership team.
  • Responsible for ensuring each manufacturing site has necessary inventory to support production processes and ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversees the planning and flow of materials through effective materials management processes.
  • Leads warehouse and shipping teams to manage inventory and ensure products are shipped on time.
  • Works with PBU leadership on cost and risk analysis for internal versus external sourcing strategies.
  • Develops leadership team to effectively manage supplier relationships, mitigate risks, and manage quality and materials cost.
  • Ensures strategic sourcing and continuous improvement initiatives are implemented and evaluated.
  • Collaborates with PBU leadership on inventory budgets and is accountable for budget management.
  • Stays current with technological advancements in supply chain management and empowers team to implement relevant technologies that improve efficiency and competitiveness.
  • Fosters a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensures procurement processes comply with relevant regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Analyzes supply chain and procurement data to identify trends, address issues, and drive continuous improvement.
  • As the global procurement executive, you will be responsible for leading the supply chain and procurement teams to achieve KPIs related to inventory targets, quality, safety, financial performance, and employee experience.

KPIs:

As the supply chain executive, you will be responsible for leading the company’s supply chain team to achieve KPIs related to supply availability, quality, direct materials cost, supply timing, employee experience, and departmental expense.

  • Data center HVAC solutions and market knowledge – Understands data center cooling market attributes, including key customer wants and needs, the relative strengths and weaknesses of key market players, the dynamics of channel structure, and the intricacies of how business technologies affect the customer experience. Understand key market trends and how they benefit or threaten the company. Deeply understand AAON’s competitive position in the data center cooling markets, its solutions’ functionality and technical attributes, its unique value propositions, and its competitive strategies.
  • Procurement – Understands and supports the role of Procurement in developing and executing supplier relationships that assure supply and enhance product quality at a competitive cost.
  • Logistics – Understands and supports the role of the Supply Chain function in setting and executing supply chain targets to optimize materials and products delivery and working capital.
  • Manufacturing – Understands and supports the role of Manufacturing in driving product quality, competitive cost, and delivery timing through thoughtful manufacturing footprint strategy, robust lean processes and systems, and consistent execution.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, procurement, operations or related field and 15 years of experience with a demonstrated track record of success in a procurement or supply chain leadership role. Experience in HVAC and/or Data Center markets is strongly preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Sitting for prolonged periods
  • Requires frequent visits to manufacturing facilities with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.
  • Extensive travel required including overnight stays.
