Position Title: Kids Director

Salary Range: $55k – 65k (annualized)
Date: April 2025

 

Summary/Objective:               

The Kids Director will provide leadership and oversight of the Kids Ministry, birth through 5th grade.  This includes the execution of vision, values, and programming to create a partnership with families in which children are in a Christ-centered Bible led, worship centered environment on a weekly basis.

 

Essential Functions:

  1. Recruit, equip, empower, and disciple volunteer leaders in their Kid Ministry roles to develop spiritual growth and a sense of community.
  2. Develop and help lead high quality, relational, and biblically centered programming for Babies through 5th grade.
  3. Select and utilize curriculum resources to help parents reinforce biblical lessons at home.
  4. Grow a community that shepherds kids’ hearts to know Jesus by the care, love, safety, and compassion that is exemplified in the Kids Ministry staff and volunteers.
  5. Maintain a culture of recruitment, training, and equipping volunteers.
  6. Partner with the Youth Ministry to bridge the transition between Elementary and Middle School.
  7. Maintain Kids Early Childhood and Elementary budget and calendar to ensure it is honored and Kingdom focused.
  8. Maintain visionary leadership for the future of the Early Childhood and Elementary ministry at Southeast.
  9. Collaborate, plan, and execute VBS with team.
  10. Supervise and shepherd Kids Assistant Director and Weekend Coordinators that ensures a heart of unity and collaboration.
  11. Partner with other staff for ministry cross-over and for special events (including VBS, Easter, Christmas and other church events).
  12. Perform other duties, as needed.


Time Requirements:

This position will be completed in 40+ hours per week (Sundays through Thursdays). Some holidays, weekends and evenings may be required.

 

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment and uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, desktop computers and telephones. This job also operates in a large classroom setting and requires standing, bending, kneeling and more.

 

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and frequently required to sit and/or stand for sustained periods of time; lift, push, pull items in excess of 30 lbs; walk and reach with hands and arms.

 

 

Qualifications

Requirements:

Professional/Education

  1. 2+ years of experience in Children’s Ministry required. Degree in Children’s related field preferred.
  2. Church staff experience is highly considered.
  3. Ability to manage confidentiality in all aspects of job.
  4. Love kids and desire to help kids grow to know Jesus.
  5. Ability to direct work.
