Summary/Objective: 

The Video & Graphic Designer position exists to help communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ, through the use of visual storytelling. This role will be instrumental in the development of creative media to connect people to Jesus, community and purpose.

 

Essential Functions:

  1. Work with the Communications team to design and implement the visual language and style of Southeast.
  2. Design and produce art for Southeast ministries.
  3. Create a design strategy and vision based on the direction of the Communications team.
  4. Produce original video content for worship services and online, including story videos (long-form documentary personal testimonies), story vignettes (short-form ministry promos), and highlight videos as needed.
  5. Work collaboratively with the various ministries of Southeast Christian Church to produce story videos and other video content as needed, overseeing end-to-end video production from brainstorming and concept development to filming, editing and distribution.
  6. Recruit and develop volunteers to support video productions throughout the week as needed.
  7. Maintain, organize and regularly update b-roll footage of every aspect of Southeast’s ministry.
  8. Provide purchasing recommendations and maintenance for equipment.
  9. Maintain archive of past video projects.
  10. Contribute to the team by accomplishing projects as needed.
  11. Maintain technical knowledge by attending design workshops, reviewing professional publications, researching current trends, and participating in professional societies.
  12. Work with staff ministries on various requests, understanding goals and focus, as well as submitting rough ideas through to completion of projects for team feedback.
  13. Ensure projects are completed with high quality and on schedule.
  14. Perform other duties, as needed. 

 

Time Requirements:

This position will be completed in 40+ hours per week (Sunday through Thursday). This position will include some weekends, some evenings and holidays.

Work Environment:
This job operates in an audio and video production environment and utilizes technology such as small and large professional video cameras, lighting fixtures, audio recording equipment, computer-based editing equipment, and other industry-related equipment. The use of high-end audio, video and lighting equipment, in a live event production environment, will be used on an occasional basis.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and frequently required to sit and/or stand for sustained periods of time; lift, push, pull items in excess of 30 lbs; walk and reach with hands and arms.

 

 

Qualifications

Requirements:

Professional/Education

  1. Must provide a link to your demo reel (examples of your various projects).
  2. 3+ years of experience in graphic and video design and production.
  3. Degree in related field preferred.
  4. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, in particular Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects and Media Encoder as well as Illustrator, InDesign and other software.
  5. Proficiency in operation of DSLR/HD cameras, audio capture equipment, and lighting.
  6. Proficiency in operation of industry standard live event production equipment and systems, preferred.
  7. Problem solving, ability to do research, interest in current film trends and techniques.
  8. Proactive and self-starting with the ability to self-manage multiple projects and time efficiently.
  9. Ability to manage confidentiality in all aspects of job.
  10. A knowledge and vision for high-level video production is essential.
  11. Strong communication skills.
  12. Excellent eye for detail.
