Position Title: Youth and Young Adults Pastor

Full/Part time: Full-time
Salary Range: $57,000 - $70,000 (annualized)
Date: February 2025

 

Job Summary:
Lead the Youth & Young Adults Ministry by recruiting, developing, and supporting volunteers, fostering student discipleship, and partnering with parents to nurture students’ spiritual growth. Collaborate with church staff to align ministry efforts with the church’s vision, plan engaging events, and manage communication and resources effectively.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Have a passion for discipling youth and young adults to know God.
  2. Recruit, mentor, and empower volunteers for student and young adult ministries, ensuring strong leadership and support.
  3. Build relationships with students, parents, and volunteers, fostering community and spiritual growth.
  4. Develop a Student Leadership Program to help students discover and use their gifts in the church and beyond.
  5. Partner with parents to equip them as spiritual leaders in their children’s lives.
  6. Plan and lead events such as retreats, camps, and weekly gatherings to engage students in discipleship.
  7. Select curriculum to reinforce biblical teachings at church and at home.
  8. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and church leadership through newsletters and digital platforms.
  9. Manage the ministry budget and collaborate across teams to coordinate events and align efforts with church goals.
  10. Support cross-ministry events (e.g., VBS), assist with Family Ministries initiatives, Southeast Christian School, and take on other tasks as needed.

 

Time Requirements:

This position will be completed in 40+ hours per week.  This position works Sunday – Thursday, including Sunday mornings and evenings, as well as some holidays and other weekday/weekend days or evenings as necessary.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment and uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, desktop computers and telephones.  This job also operates in large rooms and groups of people.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and frequently required to sit and/or stand for sustained periods of time; lift, push, pull items in excess of 50 lbs; walk and reach with hands and arms.

 

 

 

Qualifications

Requirements:

Professional/Education

  1. 5+ years of experience on a church staff in student ministry or a related field, preferred.
  2. Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in youth ministry preferred.
  3. Basic computer and social media skills.
  4. High level of organizational skills.
  5. High level of communication skills through all means of communication.
  6. Ability to manage confidentiality in all aspects of job.

  1. A faithful, growing Christ-follower who is deepening their personal relationship with Christ, having a reverence for God, and a desire for the movement of the Holy Spirit while modeling this to others.
  2. A passion for knowing the Bible and an understanding of the contextual content.
  3. A desire to see people come to know, love, and follow Christ within the Body of Christ and their communities.
  4. A desire to learn and be available to new concepts and ideas in ministry.
