Summary/Objective: 

The Safety and Security Director will seek to glorify God by developing, improving and leading the Southeast Safety and Security ministry and volunteer teams (i.e., Safety and Response, Medical Response, HALO and the Parking Lot teams) by providing a safe environment at Southeast.

 

Essential Functions:

  1. Work cooperatively with staff and volunteer teams to support the ministry of Southeast in the areas of safety and security concerns.
  2. Mentor, lead and supervise Southeast school, church employees and/or volunteers.
  3. Recruit, develop/train and lead the Safety and Security, Medical Response, HALO and Parking Lot volunteer teams.
  4. Recruit and train personnel to staff the Safety and Response Command Center for weekend services and events.
  5. Provide continual classroom and live exercise training for staff and volunteers regarding safety and security.
  6. Work with Human Resources Department regarding safety and security, as well as assisting with Background Checks, as needed.
  7. Plan and lead the Safety and Security, Medical Response, HALO and Parking Lot volunteer teams for weekend services and events.
  8. Maintain concealed carry weapons proficiency and training.
  9. Maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification.
  10. Develop and implement emergency procedures and documentation for the church.
  11. Maintain and stock first aid cabinets.
  12. Create and manage the Safety and Security, Medical Response, HALO and Parking Lot team budgets.
  13. Manage & distribute building keys and key cards.
  14. Manage the access control system for the church and school using Pro Data Key (PDK).
  15. Manage the video camera system for the church and school using Digital Watchdog.
  16. Provide safety and security support and coverage as required, to Southeast Christian School.
  17. Partner with Parker Police Department, South Metro Fire and Rescue and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on safety issues.
  18. Partner with outside agencies and churches to enhance Southeast’s safety and security program.
  19. Partner with local churches to develop and sustain their safety and security programs.
  20. Partner with various safety and security vendors to ensure the campus at Southeast is equipped and functional with safety equipment.
  21. Perform other duties as needed.

 

Time Requirements:

This position will be completed in 40+ hours per week, Sunday through Thursday.  May require weekends, evenings and holidays.  On-call availability and response are a must.

 

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office/church environment and uses standard office equipment such as smartphones, tablets, laptop computers, desktop computers and landline telephones.

 

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and frequently required to stand and walk for extended periods of time; lift, push, pull items more than 30 lbs.; walk and run; reach with hands and arms.  The employee needs to have the ability to maneuver their body and move quickly; good hearing and eyesight.

 

 

Qualifications

Requirements:

Professional/Education

  1. 3+ years’ experience in church security, law enforcement or similar with strong understanding of safety and security.
  2. Bachelor's Degree preferred, especially in Criminal Law/Science.
  3. CPR/First Aid Certification preferred (must acquire within first 12 months of employment).
  4. Must have a current Colorado Concealed Carry Permit.
  5. Passion for providing a safe and positive experience for guests.
  6. Excellent organizational, planning and coordination skills.
  7. Maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  9. Strong attention to detail.
  10. Strong leadership, encouragement and motivating skills to lead and develop support staff and volunteers.

  13. Develop and maintain strong relationships with the other ministry and operational teams.
  14. Develop and maintain strong relationships with members and guests of Southeast.
  15. Ability to plan and manage multiple projects and tasks running concurrently.
  16. Skilled in using smart phones, tablets, laptops and/or desktop computers.
  17. Skilled in using Planning Center Online applications and Microsoft products to include Word, Power Point and Excel.
  18. Skilled in using Apple and/or Windows hardware and applications.
  19. Skilled in using mobile applications that provide remote access to security devices located on the church/school campus.
