Guarantee Trust Life Insurance seeks a highly skilled and experienced Applications Developer to support our ERP and end-user applications. In this role, you will be responsible for all code-based solutions within our .NET development environment. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of ERP development expertise with .NET programming and SQL experience, and a strong background supporting, configuring, and customizing financial / ERP systems.

 

You will be a member of our team responsible for the analysis, programming, and configuration of several end-user applications and back-office software solutions. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently with general supervision, as well as working as a team member on larger projects, tackling difficult and complex challenges. 


 

Key Responsibilities:

  • General IT Applications Development:
    • Analyze detailed business, functional, and technical requirements and specifications for a variety of business applications.
    • Design, develop, test, deploy, configure, and support enhancement requests. 
    • Develop new functionalities and debug existing configurations in sandbox, user acceptance testing, and production environments. 
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain our application solutions. 
    • Design, develop, and support the integration of our ERP platform with external systems and APIs. 
    • Implement code and configurations based on functional requirements in compliance with security standards. 
    • Integrate our .NET Applications with external systems and APIs. 
    • Support application testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding application enhancements.
  • Financial Systems Expertise:
    • Utilize your background in financial systems / ERP platforms to understand and implement financial processes, supporting the organization.
    • Ensure financial data integrity and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work independently under general supervision, demonstrating the ability to solve difficult problems.
    • Participate in team meetings, providing updates on project status, sharing insights, and contributing to problem-solving discussions.
    • Foster a collaborative environment by actively engaging with team members, offering support, and sharing knowledge to achieve common goals.
    • Problem-Solving Aptitude: Eagerness to creatively solve problems and suggest potential improvements proactively, with a strong sense of ownership over assigned responsibilities. Must be able to keep tabs on tasks, raise concerns when appropriate, and drive initiatives to completion independently. 
    • Organizational Skills: Strong personal organization with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, maintain detailed notes, and prioritize effectively in an environment with evolving and changing priorities. 
    • Time Management: Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including business analysts, project managers, and end-users, to gather requirements and provide technical guidance.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a software developer, preferably in an insurance or financial services organization.
  • Proficiency in ERP Applications like PeopleSoft, Workday, or NetSuite applications is preferred.
  • Strong financial acumen with an understanding of financial processes and regulations.
  • Experience with programming, scripting, and database languages.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • SQL database and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in C#, .NET, MS SQL.
  • Database Management: Experience with SQL Server, and/or MySQL.
  • ERP Systems: Knowledge of PeopleSoft, Workday or NetSuite is preferred.
  • Web Technologies: Familiarity utilizing RESTful APIs.
  • Version Control: Experience with TFS or Git and other version control systems.
  • Development Tools: Proficiency in Visual Studio.
  • Integration Tools: Knowledge of middleware and integration tools like Jitterbit, Concur, or other similar EDI/ETL solutions.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with ERP system conversions is a plus.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft App Engine and SQR.
  • Prior experience with Insurance systems and applications. 
  • Proficiency in JIRA for project management and issue tracking a plus. 
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  • Familiarity with agile development practices.
  • Experience with Azure, or other public cloud services.

The pay range provided is not a guarantee of compensation.  The range reflects potential pay for the job grade for this role at the time of this posting. Compensation will depend on several factors such as specific competencies, relevant education and experience, qualifications, and industry certifications.  Compensation ranges are subject to change and may be higher or lower than the range described above.
