Required Qualifications

  • License Required: Structural Engineering Stamp for Illinois OR Professional Engineering Stamp for Iowa & Wisconsin
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering or related field
  • Structural Engineering Stamp for Illinois.  Professional Engineering Stamp in Iowa & Wisconsin
  • 8+ years of experience certifying (stamping) structural building calculations
  • Excellent understanding of construction processes (architectural drawings, details, and constructability)
  • Demonstrated experience in mentorship of Engineering professionals
  • Strong communication, mentoring, and organizational skills
  • Previous experience designing and computing structural precast or concrete elements
  • Demonstrated ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and operations to structural analysis of building systems and components
  • Clear understanding of building code requirements
  • Clear understanding of structural design of building and load paths
  • Experience with engineering software
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)

Mid-States Concrete Industries is looking for an Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team in Beloit, Wisconsin. The Engineering Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining world-class standards for the engineering of pre-cast building components. Through well-documented processes and procedures, they elevate the engineering department to new levels of industry excellence. They collaborate effectively with team members from diverse areas of expertise to ensure that Mid-States is able to be the safest and most innovative precast building company. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Structural Engineering - Provide a high level of discipline and technical expertise associated with project work. Review/check engineering designs, drawings, and other structural elements. Certify designs and drawings as required
  • Standards – Maintain and upgrade standards and procedures for structural engineers; identify, purchase, and implement technology to enhance capabilities
  • Maintenance / Auditing– manage ongoing maintenance and updates of standards; ensure that as changes in processes are implemented, appropriate training is complete
  • Training – interview, onboard, and provide continuous training to engineering team
  • Collaboration – reach across the organization (preconstruction, manufacturing, quality, project management, and construction) to ensure engineering expertise contributes safe, cost-effective, and efficient precast building
  • Research and Development – Participate in collaborative meetings and independent research to investigate new product possibilities and long-term growth opportunities for the company
  • Management/Leadership – Schedule, organize, direct, and review team activities; assign work and monitor output; set individual and team goals and support through achievement.
