General Description:

Oversee, coordinate, and supervise all aspects of the operation of the camp kitchen and food service.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  1. Must be at least 20 years of age.
  2. Have prior successful experience in food service management and preparation for large groups.
  3. Have supervisory skills.
  4. Have ability to work independently without continual supervision.
  5. Have ability to obtain all certification needed to cook in a commercial kitchen.
  6. Be able to cook with bulk commodities.
  7. Demonstrate maturity and responsibility.
  8. Possess sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  9. Have the ability to work as a member of the staff team.
  10. Be well organized, creative, energetic, enthusiastic and have a good moral character.
  11. Hold current CPR & First Aid Certification.
  12.  Have the ability to work and communicate with volunteers on an ongoing basis.
  13.  Cooperate with the goals and objective of the camp.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  1. Assist and participate in the pre-camp staff training, in-service training, and staff meetings.
  2. Create weekly menus for both camp sessions and rentals.
  3. Maintain inventory of the kitchen and create a weekly order.
  4. Maintain inventory of paper products and cleaning products to be ordered through Sysco.
  5. Work with Sysco Representative to submit weekly food orders.
  6. Help in the preparation, serving, and clean-up of each meal.
  7. Ensure and maintain hygienic conditions in the kitchen and food storage area.
  8. Assist co-cook in preparing meals and help dishwashers where necessary.
  9. Perform other tasks as deemed necessary by Camp Director.
