Description

Work with the Camp Director to plan and conduct all phases of the camp programs.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  1. Suggested to be at least 20 years of age.
  2. Have prior successful supervisory experience in a resident camp setting.
  3. Present a positive image of the camp and of self.
  4. Have the ability to work independently without continual supervision.
  5. Hold current CPR & First Aid Certification.
  6. Demonstrate maturity and responsibility.
  7. Possess sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  8. Have the ability to work as a member of the staff team.
  9. Be well organized, creative, energetic, enthusiastic and have a good moral character.
  10.  Have the ability to work and communicate with volunteers on an ongoing basis.
  11.  Cooperate with the goals and objectives of the camp.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  1. Assist and participate in the pre-camp staff training, in-service training, and staff meetings.
  2. Assist Camp Director in supervision and evaluation of staff members and program areas.
  3. Evaluate program activities and make recommendations for improvement.
  4. Cooperate with the camp administration and program staff to ensure high quality programs in a positive atmosphere. 
  5. Be an involved member of the camp community.
  6. Coordinate weekly staff program area assignments with Camp Director.
  7. Work with the Camp Director to assign weekly cabins to staff and campers, manage negative camper and staff behaviors, and communicate with parents.
  8. Provide constructive feedback to cabin counselors.
  9. Provide input to cabin counselors about strategies for working with specific children or groups.
  10.  Participate in all activities and events.
  11.  Serve as program resource to other staff members.
  12.  Perform other tasks as deemed necessary by Camp Director.
