Description

We are seeking a Technical Product Manager, Materials Science to drive the growth and development of our Materials Science product portfolio. This role is pivotal in managing our existing catalogue, identifying and launching new product lines, and supporting technical marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong scientific background, business acumen, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product & Portfolio Management: Oversee the materials sciences catalogue, ensuring product availability, quality, and relevance to market needs.
  • New Product Research & Development: Conduct market research to identify opportunities for new product lines, collaborating with R&D and manufacturing to bring them to market.
  • Technical Marketing & Sales Support: Develop technical marketing materials, support the sales team, and engage with customers to provide product expertise.
  • Technical Service: Respond to technical inquiries, providing expert-level customer support and troubleshooting.
  • Pricing & Data Analysis: Analyze market trends, production costs, and customer demand to set competitive product pricing.
  • Bulk Quoting & Sales Support: Provide bulk pricing and quotations, working closely with customers and internal teams to ensure seamless transactions.
  • Lead Identification: Recognize when opportunities should be directed to other business units.
  • Trade Show Representation: Attend industry trade shows and conferences to showcase our offerings, build customer relationships, and stay ahead of market trends.
  • Operational Coordination: Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to resolve product, production, and fulfillment challenges.
  • Quality & Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date on regulatory requirements affecting chemical products (i.e., REAC, TSCA, FDA, ISO). Adhere to quality standards to ensure consistent batch quality, compliant marketing and products claims, completion of NC and CAPA’s, coordinate SDS updates, and product specifications for website, labeling, and grouping are consistent.
  • System & Tool Proficiency: Utilize Salesforce, ERP systems, Excel (advanced functions), and PowerPoint to manage data, generate reports, and present findings.
  • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Work closely with internal departments, ensuring smooth communication and efficient issue resolution.
  • Project Management: Oversees the product development lifecycle, ensuring projects stay on track and within budget.
  • Communication and Alignment: Acts as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring everyone is aligned and working towards the same goals.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute product roadmaps aligned with company goals.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Expertise in pricing strategy, competitive analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Understanding of chemical regulations and ISO standards.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and ability to bridge technical knowledge with business strategy.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • Excellent data analysis skills, including pricing strategy and competitive analysis.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, ERP systems, Excel (advanced), and PowerPoint.
  • No direct reports, but must be comfortable leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Ability to travel for trade shows and customer visits.
  • Onsite role – candidates must be willing to work at our Warrington, PA location.
