Description

The Design Engineer for Development serves on project teams, performing engineering tasks for civil site design projects. This position is hybrid (3 days remote) eligible after 90 days from hire.

Essential Functions

  • Executes the key elements of the project design process and prepares documents per client requirements
  • Performs projects in compliance with established work plan and schedule
  • Designs portions of a project under supervision
  • Researches code requirements for project sites
  • Prepares environmental impact and other administrative reports required for project permits
  • Demonstrates initiative in identifying potential issues, takes steps to determine solutions, and implements selected steps

 

 

Qualifications

Experience

  • 0+ years experience in similar field preferred, including internships
  • Knowledge of software and CAD operations
  • Previous internship preferred
  • Previous leadership experience a plus

Skills

  • Communication skills (verbal, written, and in person)
  • Self-starter
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to learn new software quickly
  • Able to come up with solutions to problems and be resourceful
  • Proven ability to take initiative and implement processes
  • Physical working requirements may require:
    • Ability to do occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
    • Able to walk up/down stairs
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends
    • Subject to outside environmental conditions occasionally

Education

  • Bachelor of Engineering required, civil engineering degree preferred
  • Previous leadership experience a plus
