General Job Brief:

Assists in coordination and development of the athletic program as directed by the head coach.

This role also requires a comprehensive understanding of and commitment to the unique Christian mission and vision of ACU to Transform Culture with Truth, and the ability to advance that mission and vision through the performance of its duties, including person to person mentorship and discipleship.

  • Recruitment
  • Day to day operations
  • Managing development team coaches and players
  • Equipment inventory management
  • Practice preparation
  • Game day preparation and scheduling
  • Academic accountability
  • Community service
  • Intentional Christian faith integration
  • Fundraising
  • Camp organization and promotion
  • Other duties as assigned

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Completing other duties and tasks with utmost integrity and professionalism, as directed, and not necessarily mentioned in this description, will be expected.
  • Commitment to the University’s faith statement, mission, and purposes; and an active Christian faith.
  • Comfort and familiarity with the practice of praying with and for others, including students, faculty, and fellow University staff.

Education and Experience: (Classification is typically expected to possess.)

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required for consideration. 
  • Local travel will be required for recruitment activities and events. 
  • Must possess current driver’s license.  

Ability and Skills: (Classification is typically expected to possess or show potential of satisfactory development when placed in the job.)

  • High attention to detail and accuracy; highly organized.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others and to work harmoniously with related personnel.
  • Strong, persuasive and accurate communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to connect with parents, high school staff, pastors, business leaders, and prospective students for the purpose of marketing and promoting Arizona Christian University.
  • Willingness to work independently in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines for student outreach and student activities.
  • Professional, energetic, positive attitude, self motivated, resourceful, and persistent with careful attention to detail.
  • Capacity to organize and act upon significant amounts of information.
  • Ability to review operations for efficiencies; make suggestions for improvements.

Time Required: (Time period the classification is typically expected to perform as a fully trained employee, after hiring.)

Fair Labor Standards Act:

This position is part time, exempt for overtime pay provisions as provided by the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and any applicable state laws.

 

Qualifications
