General Job Brief

Assists on a volunteer basis in the coordination and development of the women's volleyball program as directed by the associate head coach.

This role also requires a comprehensive understanding of and commitment to the unique Christian mission and vision of ACU to Transform Culture with Truth, and the ability to advance that mission and vision through the performance of its duties, including person-to-person mentorship and discipleship

Duties, Tasks, Responsibilities:

Assists the Head Coach in the following areas:

  • Day-to-day operations
  • Recruitment to meet roster goals
  • Equipment inventory management
  • Practice preparation
  • Game day preparation and scheduling
  • Varsity and club and/or JV oversight as directed
  • Academic accountability
  • Community service
  • Intentional Christian faith integration
  • Fundraising
  • Provide spiritual guidance, prayer, and support for the team
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor

  • Completing other duties and tasks with utmost integrity and professionalism, as directed, and not necessarily mentioned in this description, may be asked on a volunteer basis.
  • Commitment to the University’s faith statement, mission, and purposes; and an active Christian faith.
  • Comfort and familiarity with the practice of praying with and for others, including students, faculty, and fellow University staff.
  • The ability to meaningfully support and encourage students, faculty, and staff from a biblical worldview perspective, using relevant and applicable references from the Old and New Testaments and orthodox Christian writings.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (or in process)
  • Playing or coaching experience in the sport
  • Demonstrated connection to the Christian Mission and Core Commitments of the University

Working Conditions:

  • General athletics environment
  • Office hours to accomplish administrative tasks Meeting with student-athletes as needed
  • Travel to competition and recruitment as needed

Time Required:

  • General college women's volleyball calendar for in-season training and competition
