Description

As a Sales Manager, your primary responsibility will be to drive sales and revenue growth for the Westin Crystal City at Reagan National Airport.  You will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies, identifying and pursuing new business and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients and hotel partners.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Solicit, negotiate and generate contracted revenues from volume prospects that meet criteria established in the hotel business plan.
  • Strategically sell guest rooms, meeting space and related services including food and beverage to customer groups.
  • Achieve or exceed annual sales goals through direct solicitation, developing new accounts, and maintaining existing business, managing account details, preparing reports, and handling inquiries to promote the hotel. 
  • Drive revenue generation through a consultative approach, preparing and presenting proposals in a timely manner, and collaborating effectively with other hotel departments and vendors.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, new and existing customers to generate repeat business.
  • Employ revenue management techniques to recommend corporate rate proposals.
  • Develop, implement and constantly modify sales action plans.
  • Internally communicate client requirements, thereby ensuring all information is accurate between client and hotel staff.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and maintain competitor files in order to be able to compete successfully.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Skills:

  • Proficiency in MicroSoft Office Suite and sales software.
  • Ability to exercise excellent communication, presentation, organization, time management and listening skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to use analytical skills for measuring business potential and value to the hotel.

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand for long periods of time
  • Walk extended distances
  • Lift/carry 6-25 lbs.
  • Able to work overtime and irregular hours

 

Qualifications

Education - Associates Degree in Sales &Marketing, Business, or a related field.

Experience - Minimum 2 years hotel sales experience or the equivalent amount of industry experience; OR, equivalent combination of education and work experience.
