The high level:
The Community Engagement Coordinator (CEC) serves as support for the South Carolina Community Engagement Team.The CEC receives ongoing instruction and coaching from, and works with, the regional Community Engagement Director (CED). The CEC’s main focus is to support the CED’s strategic plan to recruit volunteers, and develop, coordinate and implement a communications strategy to increase brand awareness and community involvement for the South Carolina region. This role is a part-time, temporary position, up to 29 hours per week and will conclude in June 2024.
What you’ll do:
In conjunction with the regional team, develop, coordinate and implement a communications strategy to increase brand awareness and community involvement and ensure all internal and external communications are seamless and aligned with organizational objectives.
- Develop engaging multimedia content (including but not limited to videos, graphics, articles and social media posts) to promote community events, initiatives, and activities. Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all platforms.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather information, stories, and updates for content creation that is aligned with organizational goals and missions.
- Monitor and analyze the performance of media content and engagement metrics. Prepare regular reports to evaluate the effectiveness of media strategies and propose improvements.
- Interact with community members, responding to inquiries, comments and feedback on different media platforms. Moderate social media platforms and foster a positive online presence for the organization.
- Organize and coordinate community events, workshops, seminars, and activities to promote engagement.
- Coordinate logistics, timelines, and resources for successful event execution.
- Prepare press releases and arrange media coverage for community events to include live coverage, photography, video recording, and live social media updates.

Our salaries are adjusted for candidates in different geographic regions. We do our very best to ensure that we’re bringing our best offer - therefore we do not engage in salary negotiations.
- This is a temporary, part-time, non-exempt, and hourly position up to 29 hours per week. The pay range for this position is $23.51 - $27.65 per hour. This position will conclude in June 2024.

The other things you need to know:
- The Reading Partners South Carolina program operates from 8 am-5 pm, Monday - Friday.
- Travel: This position may involve travel across the Charleston metropolitan area for volunteer and community events.
