Experience: Prior teaching, coaching, or experience on a high school or college team is required.
Certification: CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
Knowledge and Ability:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to take initiative and lead effectively.
- Ability to motivate, mentor, and guide athletes/students toward success.
- Confidence in making decisions and managing a team or group setting.
- Ability to teach sports skills and fundamentals to young athletes in a safe manner, emphasizing sportsmanship at all times.
- Desire and ability to work with children.
- Possess the ability to lead others in group and individual activities, demonstrating necessary steps and skills.
- The position requires effective communication with staff and program participants as well as the ability to respond effectively and quickly in varying situations.
- Ability to be professional, respectful, accountable, innovative, to follow safety procedures, and be equitable to both internal and external customers.
