JOB SUMMARY

The Management Development Program Specialist is responsible for directing the Bank’s management training program to continuously improve the overall skills of our management team. This position assesses company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives. It actively searches for creative designs and implementations of effective methods to educate, enhance and recognize performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The duties listed below may not include all the responsibilities that the person in this role may be asked to perform. Incumbent may be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Manage the development, design and implementation of new training plans and programs for the leadership and middle management team members to ensure continued growth
  • Is an expert in the delivery of training focused on top management skills needs including but not limited to time management, interviewing, performance evaluations and communication.
  • Work closely with Human Resources and Operations leadership to determine and assess the training needs of the organization and develop plans to address training needs
  • Maintain current documentation and records pertaining to training for auditing purposes
  • Partner with outside education organizations in the development and delivery of training
  • Develops and coordinates an annual calendar of programs to focus on closing management skill gaps
  • Manages online learning resources targeted to management skills development
  • Overseas and determines instructional methods based on learning objectives, and develops instructional/visual aids and coordinates the training schedule and training program preparations
  • Evaluates external sources of course development or develop programs internally
  • Works with internal subject matter experts to ensure high quality training is delivered in accordance with adult learning principles
  • Analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs
  • Plays an important part of measuring management skills regularly and identifying areas of improvement
  •  Conduct regular surveys and focus groups to gather employee feedback
  • Keeps accurate records of external continuing development trainings approved by our HR Committee and reports results to upper management
  • Utilize data-driven reports to track and analyze the effectiveness of management skills development
  • Stay informed of the latest trends and best practices in learning methods and deliveries
  • Maintains current knowledge of internal risk controls and loss prevention, including reporting of suspicious or unusual customer activity per Bank policy, and, if supervisor, ensures adherence by the respective department personnel
  • Maintains current knowledge and complies with all federal and state laws and regulations and all established Bank policies and procedures, including internal audit controls related to department operations, and, if supervisor, ensures adherence by the respective department personnel
  •  Maintains current knowledge of all rules, regulations, and laws as they apply to BSA/OFAC/USA Patriot Act/CIP/AML, and, if supervisor, ensures adherence by the respective department personnel
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned
     

Qualifications

These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.

•    High School Diploma or GED required

•    At least one-year management experience

•    At least one-year related experience in training and development, human resources or similar role, preferably in the banking industry.

•    Innovative thinker who applies creative ideas in the development and delivery of programs presentation skills are essential

•    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

•    Expert communicator and outstanding interpersonal, leadership, organizational, training, and effective

•    Knowledge of graphic design software such as Canva/Power Point projects and deadlines simultaneously

•    A team player with excellent organizational skills, results oriented and ability to manage multiple

•    Ability to embrace change and lead others into doing so positively and effectively

•    Must be able to work a flexible schedule Monday-Friday and occasional Saturdays-Sundays

•    Occasional travel to other branch locations/markets may be necessary

•    Bilingual in English and Spanish is desired

ORGANIZATION

•    This position will report to the Director of Training and Development
•    This position does not oversee other positions

 

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

 

All employees are required to attend scheduled mandatory trainings and complete online regulatory compliance training courses applicable to their specific job function. In all situations, employees must ensure that their actions fully comply with all federal banking laws and regulations, including internal bank policies and procedures. Failure to adhere to these requirements will be grounds for disciplinary action, including probation and possible termination.

  • Be at your workstation ready for work by the start of each workday
  • Remain at your workstation, unless the needs of the job require being elsewhere, except during authorized breaks (including restroom breaks)
  • Take only the time normally allowed for breaks
  • Call in and notify your supervisor or another member of management if you are going to be either absent or tardy
  • Alternate work arrangements such as telecommuting or working from home are not permitted by Lone Star National Bank
