Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our IT team. In this role, you will apply advanced design principles and methodologies to ensure efficient and effective use of network resources while maintaining the integrity and security of our network infrastructure.

Hours: Day shift, 40-hour work weeks. Flexible schedule options available between 7am - 7pm after six months of employment.

 

Setting: Professional office environment. (Local hybrid schedule).

Responsibilities

  • Implement, monitor, and maintain enterprise-level network solutions.
  • Maintain network and security standards, documentation, processes, and procedures.
  • Serve as a technical mentor to junior engineers and technicians, providing guidance on resolving complex network issues.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to analyze security risks and propose mitigation strategies and improvement projects.
  • Analyze and maintain network capacity and performance requirements, monitoring systems for availability and performance.
  • Identify, test, and implement patches and upgrades for network and security appliances.
  • Provide occasional after-hours support for critical network issues.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in network engineering.
  • Proven experience in designing redundant and self-healing network solutions.
  • Expert understanding and practical knowledge of TCP/IP, access-control lists, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, and dynamic routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
  • Advanced competency in routing, switching, firewall, and VPN technologies on Cisco, Arista, and PaloAlto equipment. Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) in routing and switching preferred.
  • Experience in configuring and troubleshooting Firewalls, VPN Concentrators, and Security appliances.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS network technologies.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Technologies: Active Directory, Server Operating Systems, and Server Virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA privacy/security standards and general security audit expectations.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Customer-focused with a passion for delivering effective solutions that enhance business operations.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and take ownership of multiple assignments.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently remains in sitting position for long periods of time to perform duties.
  • Frequently concentrates for long periods of time, paying close attention to detail.
  • Frequently uses and views the computer using fingers, hands, and vision.
  • Frequently works in a well-lit, tempered environment.
  • Occasionally moves through office to communicate with other employees.    
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. or seldom lifts objects with weight up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Rarely works on ladders.
