SUMMARY

The role of Human Resources Manager responsibilities will include the assistance and the coordination and administration of various Human Resources functions/programs.
This role is part of a centralized Human resources department that supports various entities for ownership.  The Human Resources Manager works closely alongside the Director of Human Resources and Vice President of Human Resources and oversees the day to day running of the Human Resources functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

•    Work closely with the HR Generalist to facilitate the recruitment process to include interviewing potential candidates to fill vacant positions.
•    Coordinate with the HR Generalist for online and print ads as necessary for existing and future openings.  
•    Assists with performing reference and background checks on applicants.
•    Evaluates selection and placement techniques by conducting research or follow-up activities and conferring with management and supervisory personnel.
•    Partners with the HR Director and VP of Human Resources in updating and maintaining staffing guide levels to ensure compliance with approved staffing levels and matches applicants with job requirements.
•    Maintain employee I-9 information via E-Verify.
•    Participate in the bi-weekly payroll process by entering data in Paycom
•    Assists with creating and processing PAFs( Personal Action Forms) for payroll via Paycom
•    Assist Directors, Managers, and Supervisors in the development and revision of job descriptions. Maintain updated job descriptions.
•    Manages the performance review process for entities via Paycom
•    Attend management and departmental meetings.
•    Assist in daily HR activities.
•    Works with the HR Director on formulation of policies and procedures.
•    Review, approve and input all personnel actions such as hiring, promotion, demotion, leave of absence, transfer, layoff, re-hire, or disciplinary action and pay changes
•    Coordinates with HR Director to ensure compliance with company guidelines and applicable State and Federal laws.
•    Assist with new employee orientation as required.  Attend orientation and coordinates paperwork with newly hired employees
•    In the absence of the HR Director, conducts exit interviews with employees who terminate, takes appropriate action when necessary to resolve any pertinent issues and assist employees in returning company property
•    Processes and completes unemployment claims and attend hearings and depositions as needed.
•    Assists HR Director with preparation of budget and capital expenses.
•    Interacts with Directors, Managers, and Supervisors in regard to policy and procedures, problem solving procedures and personnel actions when necessary
•    Examines employee files to answer outside inquiries and provide information for verification of employment and to assist other Directors, Manages, Supervisors, and authorized personnel when necessary
•    Assists the HR Director on special projects and keep him/her abreast of current issues
•    Ensure and maintain confidentiality
•    Attends HR related functions, meetings, training, and informational seminars.
•    Processes benefits enrollments, which include sending out eligibility notices, entering enrollments into HR/Payroll systems, reconciling benefit related invoices, follows up with insurance company on any mistakes or changes by phone or online, entering deductions into payroll. Works with HR Director in the administration and notifying Ameriflex( COBRA Administrator) initial COBRA notice, etc. 
•    Manage Equifax/TALX unemployment claims and systems. Responds to unemployment claims and Worker's Comp wage statement. Assist the Director of Human Resources with the preparation of unemployment hearings.
•    Assists Director of Human Resources with Workers Compensation claims and staff member report of injuries.
•    Assists Director of Human Resources with Employee incident intakes and statements
•    Assists Director of Human Resources with the planning, preparation, coordinating, scheduling and implementation of all HR sponsored employee events.
•    Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings 
•    Assist and recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
•    Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
•    Assists Human Resources Director with all wellness initiatives (i.e. Health fair)
•    Review and approve all HR related invoices.
•    Available to travel to other company entities if needed.
•    Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. The employee is expected to work in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist with operations to perform the job duties not necessarily contained in this job description.

Qualifications

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

•    Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business administration preferred
•    2 to 4 years of related HR experience required in the hospitality industry.
•    Bilingual - English and Spanish preferred
•    Knowledge with Paycom/HRIS system preferred but not required
