Ability to explain highly technical concepts in simple terms; Knowledge of best computer security practices; Good research and analysis skills.

The IT Director reports to the Director of Finance. 
 

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned)

The Director of IT is responsible for providing an elevated level of operational availability and stability for both standard network and hotel industry specific technology. 
The IT Director is responsible for governance, performance, operations and management of the company's IT systems and staff. 
Make strategic and financial decisions for the company including decisions on cybersecurity, PCI compliance, research and development, vendor selection, and all business applications.

• Responsible for installing, testing, maintaining, and replacing IT equipment (servers, computers, phones, & peripherals)
• Identify technology needs and make recommendations to business decision-makers
• Evaluate the company’s adherence to federal technology requirements for security
• Manage the IT team including developers, security analysts, support technicians and vendors
• Maintain company hardware and software programs
• Update technological equipment in the company
• Implement company-wide technology updates and hold sessions to teach employees about new features.
• Troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
• Programming and configuring hardware and software.
• Performing M, /A/C
• Coordinating resources to resolve simple to complex issues.
• Performing hardware repairs and maintenance.

Responsible for providing end-user support and maintaining the availability of information systems.
• Gatekeeper for ticketing system for reporting IT requests. 
• Supporting all end user hardware and software
• Assisting in purchasing new and replacement hardware, software, and other IT supplies.
• Managing projects – function as a lead within the department in assessing, researching, recommending, and implementing technology solutions to address business needs.

Participates in minimizing information security risks through the implementation of policies and procedures, identifies areas of opportunity, and makes recommendations for continuous improvements.
• Ensuring systems have up-to-date antivirus & anti-malware protection.
• Ensuring software updates are evaluated and applied in a timely fashion.
• Ensuring backup and disaster recovery is operational and achievable.

Continuously improves help desk service according to industry’s best practices.
• Implementing methodologies to improve first call resolution, managing customer perceptions, and building strong internal & external relationships.
• Documenting issues with corresponding resolutions to build up knowledge base.
• Utilizing help desk ticketing system and emails to manage and prioritize to resolve issues. Escalating and/or coordinating troubleshooting efforts with third party vendors.
• Maintaining open communication with end users to instruct and to promote a better understanding of technology

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

Job Requirements

• 5+ Years of experience in the Hospitality Industry, Condo-Hotel environment Preferably. 
• Comprehensive knowledge of LAN environments, client server architecture, windows server environments, and desktop applications.
• Able to work, troubleshoot, and have a general understanding of NEC phone systems and commands, analog, and digital lines. 
• Being able to work and troubleshoot firewalls and diverse types of managed and unmanaged switches.
• Regularly propose latest changes to network infrastructure.
• Supervise and oversee hardware and software implementations.
• Work and troubleshoot Staff Printers (Toshiba, HP, etc.)
• Able to lift heavy equipment.
• Run network cabling when required. 
• Data Recovery skills.
• Understanding of Backups, NAS, and SAN Units. 
• Comprehensive knowledge and firsthand Office 365 Administrative Center, Active Directory and Exchange hybrid server environment.
• Collaborate with different vendors to get better pricing, functionality, and troubleshooting different information systems.
• Salesforce basic experience
• General knowledge of virtualization concepts and/or experience managing virtual environments, TCP/IP network concepts and/or experience managing Ethernet and Wi-Fi networks.
• General knowledge of hospitality information systems and hospitality experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/management information systems or related field highly preferred.
• 5 years of IT management experience or network administration with leadership experience.
• Work closely with accounting and finance processes and procedures reports, to safekeeping new assets, IT Expenses control.
• Maintain Asset inventory for IT equipment, Asset Disposal reports.
• IT Vendor Management
• Gatekeeper for Departmental Softwares overall property assigning resolute team members for training and software control.
• Work closely with Networking partner Ipower Technologies on reporting and updating systems and cases on the go.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: 

Bilingual English/Spanish a plus    


PERSONAL SKILLS 

Highly Meticulous, excellent organizational skills, ability to work well under pressure, effective communication skills, Project management Skills, management, and leadership skills.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Familiar with SMS (Springer Miller) PMS, Symphony- Oracle POS, Teres (SMS) POS System, HotSOS, MS Windows, PBX & Voicemail.
Ability to work on high level projects
