The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) seeks a CRM Analytics and Data Strategy Manager. IDSA is a community of over 13,000 physicians, scientists, and public health experts who specialize in infectious diseases. The CRM Analytics and Data Strategy Manager is responsible for overseeing and executing a sustainable, enterprise-wide CRM data management and analytics program that aligns with the organization’s operational and strategic goals.

 

The ideal candidate has a blend of technical expertise, demonstrates strategic thinking, and has the leadership skills to manage CRM initiatives, interpret data insights, and implement strategies that align with organizational objectives.

Qualifications

Characteristic Essential Responsibilities:

Leadership, Program, Budget, and Project Management:

  • Oversees and executes IDSA's overarching CRM data strategy, aligning it with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Acts as a strategic advisor to teams across the organization and at all levels for data management and analytics.
  • In partnership with the Director, develops and executes strategic implementation of data-related projects and programs, including budgeting input.

Communication and Cross-Functional Collaboration: (including Governance and Compliance)

  • Works closely with other teams to implement and support organization-wide data initiatives.
  • Implements and leads a Data Governance Council, consisting of cross-organizational team members, to formalize behavior around the definition, production, and usage of data.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant data management laws.
  • Responsible for business continuity plans around data.

Operational Efficiency & Analytics:

  • Develops key performance indicators (KPIs), reports, and dashboards using tools such as Excel, Tableau or Power BI, and Salesforce.
  • Supports the data needs of marketing and other departments.
  • Proactively identifies, proposes, and implements new business opportunities where data can be leveraged for greater operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Data Inventory & Quality:

  • Maintains a comprehensive inventory of enterprise information maps and data dictionaries.
  • Oversees data quality trends and implements solutions to address data quality and completeness gaps.
  • Designs and implements processes and tools for identifying and remedying inaccurate or inconsistent data, including completing tasks such as record deduplication, merging, and timely updates to ensure data integrity and quality.

Technological Awareness & Innovation:

  • Continuously monitors and evaluates emerging technologies and trends in the data landscape, such as Artificial Intelligence, predictive analytics, and machine learning, to ensure the organization is leveraging the most effective and appropriate tools for data management and analytics.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; relevant experience can be submitted.
  • At least five years of experience supporting data governance and analytics programs and projects.
  • Five or more years of experience managing data governance and reporting programs or projects.
  • Five or more years of experience using reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

  • Strategic Mindset: Possesses a strategic approach to data management and hands-on experience in data quality, governance, and analytics.
  • Project and Program Management: Demonstrated ability to oversee the entire lifecycle of projects or programs, from conceptualization to maintenance. Proficient in multitasking to meet multiple deadlines concurrently.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled in building relationships with key stakeholders to achieve organization objectives. Effective at consensus-building across various functional groups.
  • Communication Proficiency: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the capability to translate technical data into business-relevant insights.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in SQL and Excel is required; professional experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or VizQL is preferred.
  • Data Systems Knowledge: In-depth understanding of relational databases and data workflows, including ETL processes, data cleaning, and modeling.
  • Process Analysis: Strong skills in evaluating and optimizing processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical staff to achieve organizational goals.
  • Governance and Compliance: Solid understanding of data governance principles, regulatory compliance, and privacy best practices.
  • Reporting and Visualization: Experience developing visual reports, KPI scorecards, and dashboards using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms. Skilled in connecting data sources, importing data, and transforming data for Business Intelligence. Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, statistics, and exploratory data analysis.
  • Attention to Detail: A strong commitment to quality and meticulous attention to detail.

Additional Qualifications: (Such as certifications, industry-specific experience and the experience working with certain equipment)

  • Salesforce Expertise: Experience with Salesforce, including its reporting capabilities, data models, and Einstein Analytics.
  • Certifications: A Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Data Governance and Stewardship Professional (DGSP), and/or relevant Business Intelligence (BI) tool credentials are preferred.
  • Organizational Experience: Prior experience in a strategic yet hands-on contributor role within a mid-size nonprofit or professional membership organization is highly desirable.

Physical Demands:

  • This position requires sitting and/or standing at a desk, prolonged sitting and bending and lifting during travel, as well as extensive sitting, standing, walking, and lifting during IDWeek.
  • This role also requires access to stable internet, and ability to spend several hours on the computer.
