Summary:

Manufacturing Supervisor for Surface Mount Assembly, Board Prep/Part Prep, Machine Programming and Manufacturing Inventory Control (stocking, kitting, cycle counting).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):

Production:

  • Schedule work thru smt cell, board prep and component prep cells.
  • Manage staff in smt, board prep, component prep, kitting and machine programming.
  • Oversee Material Control lead person.
  • Review cycle count results and advise any corrective actions.
  • Communicate work schedules for all 3 shifts.
  • Print and/or distribute various metrics weekly and monthly.

Other:

  • Interface with Purchasing, Program Managers, Component Engineering, Process Engineering, Labor Quote Specialist, and Test Engineering as needed.
  • Verify Clock punches are accurate on a daily basis for all reports and approve time weekly.
  • Attend Safety Committee meetings (monthly).
  • Participate in customer and regulatory audits, as necessary.
  • Maintain process work instructions for areas managed.
  • Complete annual appraisals for all reports and participate in developing annual goals and objectives.
  • Participate in annual safety training, fire drills and tornado drills.

Competencies:

  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and ERP databases.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, physical inventory practices and procedures.
  • Must able to lift 30 lbs.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking and detail skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, written and oral.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Education and/or Experience:

2 year technical degree with at least 5+ years of manufacturing/electronics experience preferred.

 

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
