As an integral multidisciplinary team member, the Psychiatrist provides clinical services through inpatient and outpatient environments, including...
- Client care responsibilities include psychiatric medication management, diagnosis and evaluations, and prevention and/or treatment of illnesses.
- Performs, analyzes, and documents findings for mental health and substance abuse assessments and interventions as appropriate for specialty training and population services.
- Provides consultations regarding diagnosis and treatment to other agency staff or community partners (i.e. emergency room and local MDs) and participates in authorizations of medical necessity and other utilization management duties.
- Completes involuntary holds and performs professional comprehensive and timely court-ordered mental health evaluations for M-1, (27-10), M-9, EC holds and releases to asses appropriate risk/safety management and treatment in the least restrictive environment.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Psychiatrist (MD/DO) in Colorado in good standing and with no restrictions.
- Active DEA
- Board certification or board eligibility in an area of specialty (Child, Adult, or Geriatric Psychiatry; Substance Abuse; Forensics; Emergency Psychiatry; Alternative and Complimentary Medical; Women’s Health; or Integrated Health), required OR must be obtained within twelve (12) months of hire for continued employment.
- Knowledge and competency in psychiatric assessment and treatment of populations served.
- Familiarity with Community Mental Health, Recover Models of Care, and Resilience Theory, preferred.
- Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing to accurately and professionally implement and document the services provided to patients.
