Position Overview

We are seeking a strategic, inspirational leader who has the desire to improve their community and drive positive change. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the CPO will be responsible for managing all current programs, leading the charge to develop future services, and inspiring their team and other stakeholders to deliver positive results.

 

The Role

As the CPO, you will be key to Mainstay’s mission, vision, and values. Working closely with the CEO and executive team, you will collaborate to implement Mainstay’s strategy and deliver quality services and supports that are on the cutting edge of the ID/A sector. Your impact will be transformational for the people we support, their family members and friends, our team members, and the wider community.

 

Key Responsibilities

 Lead with Vision: In collaboration with the executive team, play a key role in the overall development, strategic planning, service delivery, and management of the organization’s programs and services. Understand and adapt programs based on data to continually deliver positive outcomes for stakeholders.

 Develop Strong Relationships: Create a work climate of proactive leadership that emphasizes collective team performance and demonstrates core competencies.

 Integrate, Innovate, and Grow Programs: Oversee the growth and development of Mainstay’s integrated, person-centered, trauma informed model and practice standards across all disciplines consistent with the organization’s mission; communicate the philosophy and strategies to executive, management, clinical, and direct support professionals.

 Grow and Develop Talent: Help employees grow their skills and reach their full potential within Mainstay by fostering a culture of learning via training, mentoring, networking, job rotation, stretch assignments, and professional development.

 Expand Use of Technology: Champion the value of technology in enhancing connectivity, inclusion, and independence for people supported by Mainstay, and the indirect benefit of addressing staffing challenges.

 Be Fiscally Responsible: Participate in budget development and monitoring to ensure the quality delivery of services and the financial stability of Mainstay programs.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Professional leadership experience with the ability to motivate and inspire others, build a collaborative environment of success, and uphold Mainstay’s commitment to enriching lives through person-centered support and inclusive community programs.

  • Proven record of achieving desired outcomes for an organization and its beneficiaries.

  • Experience using electronic health record data to drive decision making.

  • Quality Management Certified preferred or able to obtain within 6 months of hire.

  • Honest, transparent, ethical, and a team builder.

  • Understanding of and commitment to engaging technology solutions to enhance ID/A services.

  •  Master’s degree

  • Understanding and application of trauma informed culture and practices

  • Experience in the delivery of human services, healthcare administration, public administration, or related discipline.

  • At least 7-years working in program operations in human services (or with people with behavioral health disorders, and/or ID/A).

  • Understanding of the service delivery system and practices for people with ID/A.

  • Experience with rare syndromes/conditions, such as Prader-Willi Syndrome, preferred.

Terms

Position: This is a full-time position. The CPO reports to the CEO.

Annual Salary: Range of $164,000 - $190,000 commensurate with experience.

Full-time employee benefits: Included in the benefits package are medical, dental, and vision insurance, generous paid time off, 401k retirement plan with employer match, 457 plan, and more.

Location: Southwestern Pennsylvania. This is a hybrid position with the expectation that the CPO will not only work remotely but also will work at our 40+ program locations in Allegheny and the surrounding counties, as well as at the corporate office.
