OVERVIEW:
The Systems Engineer will be a part of a team that is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our company’s internal systems and network infrastructure. This includes both hardware and software systems. You will be collaborating closely with other teams in the company to ensure that our systems are able to meet the demands of our business. In this role, you will be expected to have a deep understanding of systems engineering principles and be able to apply them to real-world scenarios. The ideal candidate for this position will have at least 5 years of experience working as a systems engineer or a similar role. They will also have experience working with a variety of different operating systems and network architectures. Additionally, they will have strong problem-solving skills and be able to work independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop, and maintain the systems that keep our organization running (Windows Server, VMware, Cisco Hyperflex, Cisco Meraki, Wi-Fi, WAN, LAN).
- Understand business objectives and translate them into technical requirements.
- Design and implement solutions that are scalable, dependable, and secure.
- Conduct research to identify innovative technologies that can improve our systems.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices.
- Write technical documentation to help others understand our systems.
- Train and mentor System Administrators.
- Work closely with other teams to ensure smooth integration of our systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems when they occur.
- Monitor system performance and capacity.
- Plan and execute projects to upgrade or replace existing systems.
- Advance cyber-security infrastructure, remediate issues and provide proactive maintenance
- Coordinate with vendors on the purchase and implementation of new hardware and software.
