Kidney Specialists of Southern Nevada (KSOSN) provides comprehensive kidney care and a full spectrum of kidney disease management resources for residents of Southern Nevada. Our care team educates and empowers patients who are living with kidney pain, infections, stones, and other kidney problems. With this exciting opportunity you will be joining a seasoned team of 50 Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physicians Assistants, as well as 60+ team members across eight locations. We are looking for a dynamic Director of Nursing (RN) to join our growing Ambulatory Surgical Center Team. Surgical Center hours are Mon to Sat 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
We specifically need dialysis, critical care or medical/surgical experience. Candidates with hospice, home health and LTACH experience cannot be considered.
Position Summary
The Director of Nursing will provide clinical direction to teammates and clinical patient care including but not limited to quality assurance and patient care, financial management, physician relations, safety, risk management, teammate management, equipment maintenance and inventory and other required duties that may arise during the general operations of the center. Ensures compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, standards established by the Joint Commission (JCAHO) and compliance with other regulatory agency standards.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provides clinical direction and oversight of nursing services.
- Assist in monitoring, development, and implementation of the center’s Quality Assurance program.
- Coordinates daily work of clinical team and ensures appropriate scheduling.
- Provides training and clinical competency assessment of teammates as needed or required.
- Gather clinical compliance data from designees for relevant programs and submit for action planning and review.
- Communicate with dialysis facilities to monitor post-care.
- Participate in access center community education programs.
- In the absence of a full-time pharmacist, the DON is responsible for the control of dangerous drugs and controlled substances.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must receive influenza vaccine annually.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
- Current NV State Registered Nursing license required.
- Minimum of four (4) years of interventional experience required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Conscious sedation certification required by date of hire.
- Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
