SUMMARY
Provide daily support and supervision to individuals so that they might live as independently and safely as possible.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide a supportive, caring, safe, and home environment by attending to individual needs, respecting differences, and supporting growth and independence;
- Maintain the home and its furnishings, including minor indoor and outdoor work;
- Attend to the health needs of each individual, including necessary appointments, proper diet and exercise, and properly administer medication to individuals;
- Deal with immediate individual problems in collaboration with program staff, with serious problems being referred to the Supervisor;
- Assist in the management of household budget and individual expenditures;
- Attend meetings and training as required;
- Assist in the preparation of reports as required;
- Oversee and assist with the daily operation of the home, such as general housekeeping, cooking, laundry, shopping and lawn care;
- Act as host for potential referrals and visitors;
- Provide transportation for individuals as required;
- Perform sleepover or overnight awake shifts, as needed;
- Other duties may be assigned.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds with assistive devices, i.e. lift, cart, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
