Kitchen Designer

Arnold Lumber Company is a full-service lumberyard offering building materials, a full line of masonry supplies, cabinetry, and a Kitchen & Bath Design Center Showroom with locations in Bristol, Wakefield, Westerly, and the Headquarters based in West Kingston.

PURPOSE: The Kitchen Designer collaborates with the sales team to build relationships with contractors, architects, and retail clients. This role involves managing the entire design process from initial layout to final order, ensuring that all aspects of kitchen and bath designs meet client expectations and deadlines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Manage the design process from initial concept to final order placement.
  • Conduct preliminary on-site visits to confirm accurate project measurements   and create working designs.
  • Provide clients with detailed product information, pricing, specifications, installation guidelines, care, and warranty.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (General Manager, Outside Sales, Customer Service, and Vendor Support) to resolve any client issues promptly and satisfactorily.
  • Stay updated on product offerings and technology to represent the brand accurately and confidently.
  • Use showroom reference materials and internet tools to provide solutions and recommendations to clients.

All other duties – Perform all other duties as assigned including carrying out responsibilities, performing duties, using skills, and working in conditions necessary to perform all assigned task

Qualifications

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in design software such as 20/20 and AutoCAD
  • Solid knowledge of cabinetry construction and design planning
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Exceptional communication and listening skills
  • Ability to effectively resolve problems from design to installation
  • Skills to deliver the best customer experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Travel requirements within the region.
  • Standard office setting. Stands, sits, and walks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Kitchen & Bath sales and design, portfolio examples required.
  • Experience with relevant design software
