Position Summary: The Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the hotel property is maintained in the best possible condition at all times with the least amount of inconvenience to customers and team members.

1. Perform general maintenance on all equipment (i.e. boilers, HVAC – Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning, electrical, etc.).
2. Take required readings on equipment.
3. Make repairs to hotel air conditioning system: change filters, clean coils, replace motors.
4. Replace and program televisions as needed.
5. Perform furniture repair.
6. Replace and repair pumps.
7. Perform plumbing repairs (i.e. clogged drains, pipe, change washers, change handles, drain fittings, etc.).
8. Conduct periodic tours of the exterior property for debris and trash removal.
9. Understand and be able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
10. Trace and repair all types of water lines.
11. Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
12. Maintain repair and preventative maintenance records.
13. Perform and maintain work to local, state and Federal codes.
14. Test, clean and repair swimming pools and spas.
15. Paint designated areas.
16. Repair and finish sheet rock.
17. Repair all types of wall coverings.
18. Repair and program hotel electronic lock system.
19. Greet all guests encountered on the hotel property. Follow proper procedures for entry into guest rooms.
20. Handle all guest concerns/complaints in a timely manner, maintaining a positive impression with the guest on resolving any concerns/complaints. Follow-up to ensure complaints or problems are resolved and action is taken to avoid recurrence.
21. Conduct periodic tours of the exterior property for debris and trash removal.
22. Operate radios efficiently and professionally in communicating with hotel staff.
23. Complete maintenance requests in a timely manner. These may include; change light bulbs, vinyl repairs, painting touch up or redo, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, tile repair and plumbing assistance. Also maintenance for equipment such as ice machines, refrigerators & freezers, kitchen and laundry equipment, HVAC, guest rooms, meeting rooms, public area and spaces, swimming pool and spa, etc.
24. Practice safety throughout the work shift by removing/correcting and identifying hazards. Wear/utilize all Personal Protective equipment, read and understand chemical warning labels and make a safe working environment a priority.
