We will hire three White Mountain Field Coordinators in 2025, with each role dedicated to supporting one specific large-scale technical project. One position will be responsible for the oversight of the entire Franconia Ridge project, from partner crew logistics to technical compliance, and will be overseeing crews on both the Old Bridle Path and Falling Waters trails. The second position will be responsible for operations on the Appalachian Trail, with the majority of the work in 2025 taking place in the Mahoosucs. This role will be responsible for assessing and triaging a large section of trail and supporting the crew in completing the work, as well as scouting and identifying projects for future years. The third position will be a roving one, working to support projects in Maine and in the White Mountains.
The Field Coordinator is expected to provide technical expertise and be active in the work, and on site for at least 75 percent of their time. The FC is ultimately responsible for the quality and quantity of work, the efficiency of the operation, and the finished product for AMC and partner crews. For the remaining 25 percent or less the FC will complete reporting, attend meetings, and attend to logistics and organization. As senior leadership on the White Mountain Trail Crew, the skills and experience of the Field Coordinators may be leveraged to support other projects as needed.
