EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Individuals in this job must have a passion for working with children and are at least 15 years old
- Effectively communicate with members, parents, and children; exercise sound, mature judgment and stay alert to potential safety and security problems.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred. Training provided by the YMCA.
- Must be able to work with parents and children of diverse backgrounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds, stand for extended periods of time, as well as sit on the floor, bend, reach and actively engage with children on their level. Must be able to effectively communicate information of YMCA programs to members and participants. Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to think and act quickly in emergency situations.
