Description

The responsibility of the Sales Director, Capping Equipment position is to manage existing customers and deliver incremental sales growth to the CSI capping equipment business. The Sales Director will also lead a resource team for capping spare parts sales and capping equipment customer service.

The position is accountable for development and execution of capping business commercial strategy including prospecting, sales, pipeline, customer relationship management, pricing and interfacing all commercial issues with CSI capping equipment customers. The role also is responsible for driving capping equipment spare parts sales revenue growth. Key functional requirements include contributing to capping business plan stategy, ongoing interface with the CSI closures commercial team and field service teams, monthly forecast planning, competitive benchmarking, and identifying product performance requirements opportunities to improve capping equipment value to CSI customers. In addition to customer relationships, the position requires alliance relationships with leaders at filling equipment OEMs and auxiallary equipment OEMs. The Sales Director, Capping Equipment is expected to be the expert commercial resource and serve as the external "face" of CSI for capping equipment, while also being the commercial leadership voice of the customer for the capping business.

The Sales Director is required to support and mentor team resources with coaching development required to achieve CSI business objectives. The Sales Director is expected to be a professional, operating with the highest integrity with exceptional communication skills in developing and managing customer relationships.

 

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Leadership for commercial strategy, revenue growth of capping equipment sales, spare parts sales, and capping equipment customer service support
  • Drive capping equipment pipeline growth and conversions through prospecting with new and existing customers
  • Seamless integration with the CSI closures commercial team and field service team
  • Chief customer advocate inside CSI with detailed knowledge of customer business
  • Industry alliances with key filler OEMs that integrate with CSI capping equipment
  • Capping equipment and spare parts pricing strategy and tactics that maximize EBITDA while maintaining competitive position to deliver revenue growth  
  • Sets goals and strategies for team resources designed to achieve CSI business objectives
  • Communicates customer requirements and recommended commercial strategies
  • Monthly and annual budget forecast, including new product or service opportunities development

Qualifications

This position requires excellent business communication skills, both oral and written, at every level of the customer and CSI organization. Strong negotiating skills, interpersonal management skills, data analytical skills, financial analysis, computer skills and a solid business acumen are keys to success. High ambition and motivation to deliver sustained, annual sales results. Personally productive and self-managing; self-secure in decision making. Ability to understand industry and customer and competitor business. Finally, the position requires an aptitude for technical complexity, and a willingness to learn the technical nuances of the closures and capping equipment business.

 

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Sales related field
  • Proven track-record of sales success and sustained results
  • +10 years of related experience
  • Experience in rigid plastics and packaging industry strongly preferred
  • OEM packaging equipment experience
  • Closure industry experience
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of business strategies
  • Attention to detail
  • Intermediate level PowerPoint, Excel, Word, CRM skills
