POSITION SUMMARY

The Optometry Doctor provides comprehensive vision care via examination, testing, prescribing. Supports Clinical Director in upholding and promoting ICON's values and philosophies relating to innovative, efficient, and superior eye care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for performing all aspects of patient care within the clinic including patient exams and consultations, surgery treatment plans and post-operative care in accordance with ICON's standards and efficiency and demonstrates satisfactory knowledge and clinical judgment.
  • Efficiently delivering patient care through constant evaluation of patient's needs (i.e. performing specific tests as defined by patient concerns, etc.
  • Acts as a resource for all information; assists with training, managing and motivating all clinical staff.
  • Trains and develops interns/residents to ensure ICON quality and efficiency is achieved in order to maintain a pipeline of optometric talent.
  • Facilitates the Clinical Director in creating and sustaining a highly accountable and inspired work environment where employees can deliver exceptional customer service and patient care.
  • Trains and develops new optometric hires to ensure they provide top-quality patient care at an efficient pace and assimilate into ICON's philosophies as quickly as possible.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Doctorate of Optometry
  • Current state licensure

Sign on bonus and relocation bonus eligible.
