Job Duties

We are seeking a dedicated Graduate Assistant to support the Women's Rugby Head Coach in the development and implementation of training programs for our collegiate women's rugby team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in strength and conditioning, with a passion for athletics and student development. While rugby experience is valued, we prioritize candidates with expertise in strength and conditioning to enhance the team's physical performance and overall fitness levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Coach in planning, organizing, and executing strength and conditioning sessions tailored to the needs of the women's rugby team.
  • Design and implement individualized training programs to improve players' strength, speed, agility, and endurance.
  • Monitor and evaluate players' progress and performance during training sessions and competitions.
  • Collaborate with the coaching staff to integrate strength and conditioning principles into overall team strategy and player development.
  • Provide guidance and support to student-athletes on proper nutrition, injury prevention, and recovery techniques.
  • Assist with recruitment efforts, including scouting potential student-athletes and coordinating campus visits and recruitment events.
  • Perform administrative tasks as assigned by the Head Coach to ensure the smooth operation of the women's rugby program.

General Support

Supports and promotes the University’s sports programs. Other duties as assigned.

  • Promotes events / activities.

Qualifications

Minimum Education Level Required

Bachelors Degree. Must be enrolled in a WU masters degree program for the extent of the Graduate Assistantship. 3.0 GPA required.

Minimum Experience Level Required

One year collegiate playing experience.

Work Environment

Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and moderate noise level that can be loud depending on the circumstances.
