Job Summary: The Graduate Assistant for Acrobatics and Tumbling will support the Head Coach in all aspects of the intercollegiate acrobatics and tumbling program. This position is designed for a graduate student pursuing a degree at Wheeling University who has a passion for coaching and mentoring student-athletes. The Graduate Assistant will assist with training sessions, recruitment efforts, game day operations, and administrative tasks to ensure the success and growth of the acrobatics and tumbling program.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Coach in planning and executing training sessions, including skill development, strength conditioning, and team-building activities.
- Provide support during competitions, including setup, breakdown, and logistical coordination.
- Aid in the recruitment of student-athletes by attending high school competitions, communicating with prospective athletes, and assisting with campus visits.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as maintaining team records, organizing travel arrangements, and managing equipment inventory.
- Collaborate with coaching staff to develop game strategies, analyze opponent performances, and provide feedback to student-athletes.
- Serve as a mentor and role model for student-athletes, providing guidance on academic success, personal development, and sportsmanship.
- Uphold NCAA rules and regulations, as well as university policies, regarding student-athlete eligibility, recruitment, and conduct.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.
