The Philadelphia School (TPS) is excited to announce an opening for an Associate Director of Alumni Relations and Events!

What you will do
In this key position, you'll work hand-in-hand with the Director of Advancement to strengthen relationships with our alumni community and support the school through innovative philanthropy and service initiatives. This role combines strategic and creative event planning with meaningful alumni engagement to contribute to our mission and objectives.

You’ll partner with the Advancement Team, the TPS Parent and Alumni Associations (TPSA), and the Board of Trustees to execute events that both inspire and foster a vibrant culture of philanthropy.

Responsibilities include: 
Event Management

  • Develop and manage an annual calendar of advancement events in coordination with the broader school community.
  • Plan and execute a variety of events, including an annual fundraiser, Fall Festival, parent and alumni gatherings, and more.
  • Oversee all event logistics, including venue selection, vendor contracts, catering, AV setup, and volunteer recruiting and coordination. Partner closely with facilities to efficiently execute and effectively manage campus events. 
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications to craft compelling event communications.
  • Manage budgets, timelines, sponsorship opportunities, RSVPs, and post-event analysis to ensure each event’s success.

Alumni Relations

  • Serve as the primary contact for alumni, focusing on meaningful connections and engagement.
  • Design and implement alumni engagement programs and services. 
  • Encourage alumni participation in philanthropic efforts, including campaigns and giving day.
  • Share alumni updates, achievements, and stories through various platforms like social media, publications, and web content.
  • Maintain and update alumni data in our Raiser’s Edge / NXT database.

The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who brings a proven track record of creativity, flexibility, and strong organizational skills. You are experienced with planning and executing a wide range of events and have a passion for engaging others and making an impact. You are an excellent communicator, detail-oriented, and enjoy working as part of a team.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in fundraising, event planning, or alumni relations.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to attend to multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional accuracy in data entry and analysis.
  • Experience with fundraising systems (Raiser’s Edge preferred) and an understanding of donor stewardship best practices.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends for events as required.
  • A strong commitment to TPS’s mission and values.
