Westmed Ambulance Service is one of the largest ambulance providers in Northern California. The Operations
team is responsible for Emergency and Non-Emergency calls throughout East and South Bay Counties of Northern
California with deployment centers in Alameda, Santa Clara and Contra Costa counties. Westmed is proud to be
the primary Ambulance provider for UCSF Children's Hospital of Oakland, Providing Neonate and Pediatric Critical
Care and general transportation for one of the largest children's hospitals in California. Westmed also provides the
largest footprint of Neonate and Pediatric Advance transport in the Bay Area, providing this essential service to
multiple major hospital systems. Westmed also provides primary EMT, ALS and CCT transportation services for the
Santa Clara county hospital system and other area hospitals.
Position Summary:
A Westmed Emergency Medical Technician will be responsible for transporting patients between hospitals/care
giving facilities, provide basic/advance life saving treatment as needed and operate emergency vehicles. A
successful EMT will respond appropriately to emergency calls, assess a person’s condition to provide proper
medical care, and develop initial plan of care to stabilize an individual. The ability to drive emergency vehicles
safely and coordinate with Dispatchers is highly desired.
Qualifications:
• California State EMT/Medic Card
• Valid California Driver's License
• Ambulance Driver Certification
• Valid Medical Examiner Card
• Current CPR Certification
• A DMV Printout for review
• At least 18 years of age
Salary:
• $25.00 hourly EMT + annual raises (Regular rate)
• $30.00 hourly EMT (Special Events)
