Position Summary:
The Commercial Mechanical Designer/ EIT (Engineer In Training) is responsible for the technical delivery of mechanical/HVAC engineering analysis and design on building and non-building projects. They will help lead a team through the design coordination, execution, procurement support, and construction administration on a variety of mechanical projects. They will also be responsible for completing calculations, reports and spreadsheets. Projects types will represent a broad cross-section of commercial, governmental, industrial, institutional, recreational facilities, residential and retail projects types.
Essential functions and responsibilities:

- Design and analysis of mechanical systems for a variety of project types, including new construction and renovation
- Communicate effectively with client, and internal project team, and other contractors
- Assist in the development of project proposals, budgets, cost standards and schedules
- Accurately produce project construction documents to meet milestone schedules within a predetermined hourly budget

- Manage a multi-project workload
- Responsible for meeting mechanical engineering quality levels on assigned project
- Work with other Designers, Technicians, and Sales personnel to prepare drawings, modify existing drawings, or create record drawings
- Promote the reputation of the company through the technical quality of his/her work

- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time, talk and hear; spend long hours in intense concentration; use fingers and hands to handle, control and feel objects. Employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and bend. The employee will regularly be required to lift objects up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift objects up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus with or without eye correction. This position is in a typical office environment. The noise level is usually minimal.
