Adjunct Faculty – Kinesiology Lab

 

The School of Health Sciences at Lasell University is seeking part-time faculty member for Exercise Science. The School of Health Sciences offers a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science at the undergraduate level. The major immerses students in a CoAES-accredited curriculum that provides a comprehensive understanding of Exercise Science (exercise physiology, strength and conditioning, clinical and laboratory exercise testing, performance assessment, and fitness and wellness principles) to address the multi-disciplinary nature of the field of exercise science. The current listing is for in-person classes that are already scheduled.

 

Current Openings include:

 

  • EXSC202 Kinesiology Lab:
    • Fridays 8am-9:55am

 

EXSC 222L Course: This laboratory course provides hands-on application of anatomical and mechanical principles underlying human movement. Students will engage in structured activities to assess, describe, and analyze human motion using observational, biomechanical, and technological methods. Emphasis is placed on practical skill development in motion analysis, measurement techniques, and data interpretation to complement theoretical knowledge from the lecture course. Laboratory exercises include joint motion assessment, force and torque analysis, gait evaluation, and the use of software and instrumentation to quantify human movement. Co-requisite EXSC222.  

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Proficiency in maintaining an organized Canvas page and ability to deliver engaging course material.
  • Provide instruction for all sessions of assigned courses utilizing the college philosophy of connected learning.
  • Provide a syllabus and course outline to students that clearly communicates course learning outcomes.
  • Maintain office hours each week and timely communications with students via email and phone
  • Keep accurate records of student progress (grades) and complete mid-semester and final grade reports.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Biomechanics, or a related field (Ph.D. preferred).
  • Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience demonstrating experience in human movement analysis and laboratory-based instruction.
  • Familiarity with biomechanical assessment tools and data analysis software (e.g., force plates, EMG, motion capture systems) preferred.
  • Preference will also be given to those with certifications: ACSM EP or CSCS
