Your Role & Responsibilities
As a Live-In Mentor, you will reside in a shared apartment attached to a residential group home and provide overnight support for adults with mild to moderate developmental disabilities when there is an active emergency. While you are not required to stay awake overnight, you and your roommate (another Live-In Mentor) must coordinate who will be the designated overnight contact each night in case of emergencies.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Overnight Presence – One Live-In Mentor must be designated as the on-call emergency contact each night.
- Coordinating Overnight Duties – Work with your roommate to ensure coverage and fair scheduling.
- Helping with Morning & Evening Routines – Support residents with daily living tasks such as meal preparation, medication reminders, and personal hygiene.
- Ensuring a Safe Living Environment – Secure the building and respond to any emergencies.
- Weekend Support (2 shifts per month) – Provide structured support to residents.
- Being a Positive Role Model – Foster a sense of community and inclusion.
