Position Summary
We are seeking excellent candidates for the role of Religion,Theology and Spirituality Faculty serving students in Middle/Upper Form.Candidates should possess solid formation in Catholic theology and spirituality and be able to communicate and celebrate that living tradition with students, weaving it into dynamic, mission-centered religious instruction. Candidates should be compelling educational practitioners who are confident in their capacity to create and deliver a dynamic, engaging and challenging curriculum to students. In addition to their teaching assignments, all teaching faculty are expected to contribute to the life of the school community in general, including supporting Chapel and Assembly gatherings, supervisory responsibilities and other engagements in the life of the school community.Schools of the Sacred Heart is committed to an in-person teaching model and faculty must be prepared to adhere to and support our Health and Safety Plan.
From Kindergarten into their High School years, Convent & Stuart Hall students develop a recognition of the complementarity of faith and reason in the personal search for meaning and truth. In and out of the classroom, each student is encouraged to explore their beliefs in an atmosphere of awareness and compassion. Throughout the curriculum, students gain insight into how world religions and cultures around the world attempt to engage with the big questions, with a consistently referenced through-line of Catholic faith, values and spirituality. We confidently engage our Catholic heritage, encouraging dialogue and the expression of the many faith traditions represented by our students.
