This position is only open to current Pacific University Students with a Federal Work Study award

Located off campus in Beaverton, OR. Remote work available. $15.95/hr. Hours are flexible. 

HomePlate Youth Services is the only non-profit organization working with youth aged 12-24 experiencing houselessness in the Washington County area. HomePlate supports youth through five programs: Housing, Outreach, Drop-In, Education, & Employment. HomePlate is committed to providing an equitable work environment, and strives to support employees in both their work, and home life. This role would be a great experience for anyone looking to get into non-profit Administrative work, or Social Services work in general. In this role you will be supporting all three of HomePlate's administrative departments: HR/Operations, Finance, & Development.

 

While it isn't a youth facing role, you will be supporting and interacting with the youth facing staff while also learning all the behind the scenes work that it takes to run a non-profit organization. You will have direct training from the Finance Specialist and Development Associate, as well as the opportunity to shadow and learn from the Program Staff if you desire.

Daily tasks may include: 

 

  • Operations Duties
    • Organize and manage file storage in to Google Drive
    • Organize meetings and take notes during them
    • Monitor (and potential create) projects for Administrative Staff through Asana (project management software) 
  • Development Duties
    • Assist with Donation data entry into Salesforce (Donor Relations Software)
    • Research articles/statistics/information relevant to local and state housing instability that can be used in development projects
  • Finance Duties:
    • Monitor and Organize the Finance department's email inbox.
    • Assist with data entries into Xero (General Ledger Software)

 

*The rest of the time can be spent with various staff members in whatever areas you would like to learn more about!

Qualifications

Required

  • Detail oriented and accurate in lengthy projects
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently (support will still be available to you)

Desired

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel knowledge
  • Intermediate Google Suites knowledge (Gmail, Drive, Google Sheets)
