Position Summary:  The Philanthropy Coordinator coordinates approved fundraising activities and communications to engage and inspire CCS supporters. The role is part of a committed fundraising team that works to connect supporters to ways to invest in our critical mission to help survivors and prevent assault. The Philanthropy Coordinator is assigned a portfolio of annual giving goals and is specifically responsible for maintaining the CCS website, organization profiles on various charitable giving sites, online and peer-to-peer giving pages, event and mobile giving platforms, and managing approved content for social media. The Philanthropy Coordinator also plays a vital role in supporting data integrity of the agency donor database as well as the writing and editing of philanthropic communications including the annual report, appeal letters, donation requests, and minor grants.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Implements approved content on the agency website, including blogs, news, promotions, donation pages/forms, and resources to engage CCS donors.
  • Conducts monthly reviews of the agency website for content and link accuracy, opportunities to improve user experience (e.g. website widgets, accessibility, functionality). Works directly with the CCS web developer on approved solutions.
  • Manages Philanthropy team’s social media accounts on approved content and calendaring: Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, and YouTube via Later.
  • Works with Annual Giving & Events Manager to develop digital news emails using Constant Contact.
  • Updates agency profile on charity sites (e.g., Candid/Guidestar, Great Nonprofits, BBB).
  • Completes writing and editing assignments as part of a team effort on the annual report, appeal letters/emails, storytelling, and grants.
  • Develops proficiency in the donor database, ensuring accurate and timely input of information and distribution of weekly and monthly reports and maintenance of accurate data content.
  • Serves as point person for updates to peer-to-peer campaigns, including set up support for hosted pages, running reports on progress, and ensuring donors receive accurate and timely receipt forms.
  • Reconciles records of letters mailed with donation entries tracking report from the Executive Assistant. Proofreads and sends print-ready donation letter files to the Executive Assistant for CEO signature weekly.
  • Supports the annual Tea & Tonic and beneficiary events with marketing materials, committee meeting coordination, auction descriptions, guest communications, and other key logistical areas of support.
  • Fundraising responsibilities include leading auction item procurement with the support of volunteers and supporting team fundraising goals through a small portfolio of assigned individual stewardship communications by email, phone, or in-person with donors and volunteers.

 

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Education: B.A. in Communications, Marketing, English/Writing, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

Experience:

  • Minimum two (2) years’ work experience in marketing, website administration, online giving, developing social media content, and project management, preferably at a nonprofit organization.
  • Minimum (1) year of work experience using content and communication platforms such as Canva and Constant Contact and project management platforms such as Google Suite or Monday.com, or comparable tools.

Preferred Experience:

  • Donor relations/customer service and/or event coordination or public relations experience.
  • Familiarity with fundraising CRM and peer-to-peer platforms, such as DonorPerfect, Classy, or Greater Giving, or comparable tools.
  • Familiarity with intervention and prevention work related to relationship violence and sexual assault.
  • Bilingual or multilingual.

Working Environment:

Eligible for hybrid work, with a flexible schedule that includes both remote and in-office work. Typically, 3 days remote and 2 days in-office . This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. Must maintain personal cell phone for work-related purposes. Ability to work in a trauma-informed environment, understanding and learning from experiences involving intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Working conditions may include possible exposure to communicable diseases related to those typically found in social services setting.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to carry up to 20lbs.

Travel:

Some travel may be required (approx. 15% within San Diego County). Must have reliable transportation available for work-related purposes, a valid driver’s license, and proof of automobile insurance.

Work Hours
The employee must be available during Agency working hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and must work 30 hours each week to maintain full-time status.  Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
