The Post Office Manager oversees the daily operations of the on-campus post office, ensuring efficient mail and package distribution for students, staff, and families. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent customer service to support the school community.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Sort and distribute incoming mail and packages in a timely manner.
- Manage the Quadient package locker system to ensure efficient package handling.
- Assist students and staff in preparing outgoing mail and packages.
- Forward first-class mail and packages to former students and staff as necessary.
- Maintain records of incoming and outgoing shipments, forwarding addresses, and monthly reports.
- Assist the Business Office and other departments with mass mailings.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to the Post Office Clerk.
- Oversee off-site delivery drivers and hold them accountable for proper and timely deliveries.
Qualifications and Prerequisites:
- Minimum two-year college degree or relevant postal operations experience.
- At least two years of experience in a high school or college post office preferred.
- Proficiency in using office equipment, including calculators, copiers, telephones, and personal computers.
- Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Capable of lifting 50+ pounds on a regular basis.
