Description

The loan documentation preparation specialist will prescreen and prepare loan documentation based upon information submitted by bank underwriters. This role works regularly to maintain service level standards in a production environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitors a shared email inbox for loan preparation requests for consumer loans.
  • Previews loan requests to ensure required doc prep information is present in the “L” drive eFolder in order to proceed with request.
  • Extracts consumer loan applications from loan processing software into the bank’s document prep software.
  • Prepares loan documents according to terms and conditions outlined and approved in the loan processing system and in accordance with all regulatory and state requirements.
  • Accurately assign various loan codes to support accuracy in reporting requirements.
  • Archive required documents from eFolder into the Synergy eSign cabinet titled “Loans in Process”. Index each document accurately.
  • Proof loan documents and route to an assigned quality control reviewer.
  • Provide loan documents to lender by email for in person closings.
  • Transfer loan documents to an eSign session for electronic closings. Prep documents for e-signatures on each page of each document. Sends blank set of documents by email to note department for loading.
  • Assists in reviewing and testing software releases.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
  • Completes required compliance and security courses as assigned within the established deadlines.
  • Complies with all banking industry regulations to include Fair Lending, Fair Credit, Reg. Z and Reg B.

 

Qualifications

Education/Skills:

High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc. plus 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

Skills needed to perform successfully in this position will include:

  • General knowledge of retail banking and consumer lending
  • Ability to proofread numbers and lending terminology
  • Ability to follow a specific workflow and adhere to timelines
  • Accurate typing and spelling
  • Experience in Laser Pro or a like loan document prep software is preferred.

            Work Experience:

Prior experience in the position of a universal banker or loan assistant where routine processes and independent thinking is required.     

            Physical Demands:

  • be able to sit for extended periods of time
  • be able to focus on a computer monitor/screen for extended periods of time
  • be able to perform repetitive tasks requiring manual dexterity
