We are seeking a local candidate for this role! This position offers a flexible, hybrid schedule with availability to work from home on Monday and Friday.
The Product Manager is directly responsible for managing various product lines in a manner which contributes positively to the Company's bottom line. This position works with the Divisional Merchandise Manager to develop a comprehensive assortment strategy to meet the consumer's needs. The Product Manager will work directly with outside vendors on developing exclusive product offerings and negotiating pricing. Additionally, the Product Manager is responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels, accurately pricing products to be competitive with the market as well as monitoring corporate KPIs in an effort to drive profitability.
A Day in the Life of a Product Manager:
- Develop and manage a strategic business plan for the life cycle of a product line
- Purchase new inventory either by utilizing existing relationships or by establishing new relationships with vendors in the industry
- Update buy and sell prices on website. Verify posted buy prices are in alignment with current market prices and inventory position; ensure buy price provides necessary margins for profit goals and address any margin or other pricing issues that are found
- Search for and research new items to sell; communicate product, quantity, and buy price to the Wholesale Purchasing Department for products wanted. If CCE posts need to be made for an item to be purchased, communicate post information to the Wholesale Purchasing Department
- Develop and communicate clear concepts and plans to expand a product line
- Submit weekly recommendations to Site Merchandising for email promotions and banners advertisements to use on the Company website. Will require forecasting estimated unit sales and revenue
- Create Product Listings including product specifications and descriptive content
- Coordinate with photography team to ensure proper images are available
- Review inventory out-of-stock reports, inventory depletions, and inventory low stock notices to ensure acceptable inventory levels are maintained; utilize sales and clearance categories to drawn down excess inventory where appropriate. List product to website multiple- times per day as shipments are received
- Review all daily and weekly reports to accurately manage product lines
- Analyze product line performance on a weekly and monthly basis to provide insights to management and identify strategic opportunities
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
