POSITION SUMMARY
The Director, Supply Chain is a senior leader who will oversee procurement and sourcing activities. You will develop supply chain operation strategies and direction for the supply chain organization to become a best-in-class operation. You will develop and implement operational systems to monitor and control critical supply chain processes such as Cost Savings, Supplier Development, Supplier On Time Delivery, and Supplier Quality Performance. This role involves strategic planning, coordination, and optimization of all activities related to the sourcing, procurement, production, logistics, and distribution of products.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Effectively lead and develop internal and external supply chain planning, control processes, domestic and global sourcing of materials, services, and transportation.
- Develop and improve supply chain processes and practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws in a way that best achieves the organization’s objectives.
- Strategic management of supplier performance and future organizational needs to assess the ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
- Responsible for inventory strategy to ensure adequate availability while balancing Net Working Capital requirements.
- Responsible for achieving delivery and quality standards on locally sourced, globally supplied materials.
- Responsible for negotiating contracts with suppliers that secure price, quality and delivery benefits to our business.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Experience in business process design and implementation including problem-solving, negotiations, and team-building with non-direct reports.
- Expert skill in developing cost reduction plans, contract negotiation and supplier management.
- Strong knowledge of MRP theory and vision for how business systems enable supply chain to deliver against their goals.
- Aptitude for connecting disparate types of information including planning, procurement, distribution, manufacturing, regulations, product development, and statistical methods.
- Systems thinking/mindset, including the ability to create an understanding of a larger system by examining linkages and interactions between components.
- Ability to provide an inclusive workplace that fosters the development of others.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in supply chain management, or related field.
- 10+ years related experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing or Procurement in a manufacturing and materials planning management.
- Demonstrable experience executing a successful supply chain strategy in a manufacturing and distribution environment.
- Experience working with ERP systems, including data analytics within supply chain functions.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s Degree, preferably in supply chain management.
