Overview
The Core Network Engineer will focus on optimizing, configuring, and implementing routing and switching solutions within Surf Internet’s core and edge network infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Juniper routing environments. This role requires excellent communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The role involves supporting the NOC during escalations, contributing to network implementation and maintenance, and ensuring service reliability and high performance.

Responsibilities:
- Configure and maintain core and edge routing infrastructure.
- Optimize network performance and validate routing changes to maintain availability.
- Support NOC operations during outages and escalations.
- Troubleshoot complex routing issues and ensure traffic is optimally transported.
- Perform periodic overnight maintenance for network upgrades, repairs, and changes.
- Maintain comprehensive network documentation and enforce best security practices.
- Communicate with vendors and create TACs and RMA’s.
